After watching everyone brace for the winter storm, keep the kids occupied while they’re home from school, and eat the snacks at the bottom of the pantry while the power’s been out, I think it’s safe to say we’re ready to move on.
Enter spring (come on, Punxsutawney Phil!).
Spring photos check a lot of boxes. Soft light, fresh color, fewer crowds, and less stress. Honestly, what’s not to love?
Spring light is one of the most forgiving types of natural light. The sun sits lower in the sky, shadows are softer, and everything feels more even and glowy.
This means less squinting, fewer harsh shadows, and photos that feel like coming out of hibernation.
Fall gets the hype, especially in West Virginia, but spring photos are also absolutely beautiful.
Spring has a calmer pace, and that relaxed energy shows up in photos. With a little preparation ahead of time, I can ensure your session will be fun AND efficient.
Fewer Crowds Means Better Photos
Popular locations are easier to work with in the springtime. There’s more flexibility with timing and space, which allows for more variety and creativity during your session. Less waiting, less background clutter, and more focus on you.
While spring brings blooms and color, it also symbolizes change. New seasons, new milestones, and fresh starts. When was the last time you and your family had professional photos taken? Was your youngest 2? And now she’s 13? It’s time!
Spring is a sweet spot. Plus, it’ll be here before you know it! If you are already looking ahead and ready to leave winter behind, planning your spring photos is a fun activity to look forward to. It’ll be warm again soon (hopefully) and I can’t wait to see you then!
