Let’s get one thing straight real quick.
Your love story is not required to follow a script. It does not need a Pinterest board approval rating. And it definitely does not need to look like your cousin’s friend’s wedding that went semi-viral in 2019.
If it feels like you, that’s the only requirement.
Somewhere along the way, weddings and couples photos started feeling like a checklist. Stand here. Do this. Smile! Don’t do that.
Hard pass.
I photograph couples who are loud, quiet, awkward, affectionate, sarcastic, emotional, goofy, serious, and everything in between. Some want the whole wedding day experience. Some want to elope on a mountain and be done by lunch. Some want a backyard ceremony and pizza.
All of it counts. All of it is worth documenting.
There is no prize for doing things the traditional way if the traditional way doesn’t feel like you.
The photos people end up loving the most are never the ones they planned down to the second.
It’s the sideways glance.
The laugh that sneaks out.
The way your hands find each other without thinking.
The moment where you relax and go, “Oh, this is actually fun!”
That only happens when you’re not trying to perform for the camera.
My job is not to turn you into a model or make your relationship look “perfect.” My job is to capture what already exists between you.
If I had a dollar for every time someone told me they’re awkward in front of the camera, I could retire early.
Here’s the thing. You don’t need to know how to pose. You don’t need to practice smiling. You don’t need to worry about what to do with your hands. That’s my job.
Your only job is to show up as yourselves. I’ll guide you, hype you up, and gently redirect you when needed. Most of the time, you’ll forget you were ever worried in the first place.
Whether your relationship is soft and steady or loud and chaotic in the best way, it deserves to be documented honestly.
Not toned down.
Not dressed up for trends.
Not edited to fit someone else’s idea of romance.
Just real. Just you.
If you want photos that tell the story of how your relationship actually feels, you’re in the right place.
And if your love story doesn’t fit a mold?
Good. Those are my favorite ones to photograph.
